My Manifesto for Writing about Health and Wellness: 7 Beliefs
Too often, health writing feels either overly technical or steeped in industry jargon, accessible only to professionals—or worse, shaped by the interests of institutions, not individuals. For many ordinary people, including my own parents, reading a medical article can feel like decoding a foreign language.
That’s why I start to write about health and wellbeing.
I want to make health simple, clear, and human—from lens of an ordinary user. Not as an expert preaching answers, but as a fellow traveler asking better questions.
Here’s the heartfelt beliefs behind everything I share:
- Health is the first freedom, and prevention is the wisest investment
- Learning about health is the gateway of understand the essence of life
- Traditional wisdom and modern science are not enemies, but allies
- Technology should empower healing, not replace human connection
- Business innovation should elevate healing, but profit must never override the fundamental purpose of healthcare
- Everyone deserves access to health knowledge and what’s happening in this field, not just the privileged few.
- Body, mind, spirit, and the time and space we inhabit are deeply interconnected, and should be understood through a holistic lens
This is the belief and journey I have chosen.
I’m not a doctor (yet). I don’t speak in clinical terms or institutional language. I’m simply writing from the lens of an ordinary person—with questions, lived experience, and a deep desire to make sense of it all.
If you’ve ever felt lost, overwhelmed, or unheard in your own health journey—I am here to listen.
I am Katrina, Viva la Vida!
